Writercise: Insanity Max 30 Day 4
Any kind of reportage or promotion of exercise is usually very positive, with everyone gung-ho to shed some calories, kick some butt and feel GREAT. This is the right kinda vibe to share, obviously, especially if anyone's going to get motivated to get up off their arse in the first place. But that motivation isn't always there, even with the best intentions. It's a trick you have to play with yourself. 'I feel tired now, but I'll feel good after exercise', but, like, 20 minutes later you're still scrolling Twitter, putting exercise off, if it's going to happen at all.
There's nothing else for it but to DO IT. Don't even think. Put on some suitable clothes, get out that door, walk/jog around, go to the gym, or press play at home. That's what I did this morning. My mind & body were saying 'don't bother' but I got up, put on my gear and pressed play before I could talk myself out of it.
Day 4 of Insanity Max 30 is Tabata Power again, which IF YOU'RE PAYING ATTENTION WHICH I KNOW YOU ARE was also Day 2 so you can read about that here. But now I'm more familiar with the moves and the structure; this workout goes by FAST. That's the great thing about IM30, the time zips by. After 32mins of full body Tabata moves (incl cool down), I was feeling good (and very glad I didn't dodge the workout). I also did a sensible 10 minute lower back yoga stretch. Treat yo body right, right? Now, time for a lot of peanut butter...
